About The Animal News

Welcome Dear Friends, I am so glad you are here.

I'm Helen and I am the creator and author of The Animal News.  If you would like to get in touch with me please do so on either Facebook or Twitter, it will be lovely to hear from you!

About The Animal News

Animals don't have a voice of their own, it is up to us to protect them and keep them safe.  In order to make a real difference to the lives of animals we really need to work together and stand up against those who violate the rights and welfare of animals all over the world.

Although I have named the blog "The Animal News" its sole purpose is to draw your attention to animals in need but rather than of calling it Animals In Need I wanted something a bit more catchy in the hope of attracting more readers and therefore more contributions.

How it Works

The reason I started this blog was because I wanted to start raising awareness and making a difference to the lives of animals but due to the constraints of every day life I am limited as to what I can actually do, this is something I wrestle with every day as I settle in for another day in the office.  Hopefully in the future I will be able to fulfil my ambitions and have a more "hands on approach".  In the meantime, I will do everything I can to improve the lives of animals whether that be joining campaigns, signing petitions, writing letters, submitting articles to newspapers and educating, encouraging and sharing my views with others in the hope that more of us with voices can help those without a voice of their own.

I really need your help with this.

People lead increasingly busy lives but the good news is that you don't actually need to do much to make a big difference, just follow the links provided and simply spare a few minutes  signing a petition or filling in your name and e-mail address on a message to a decision maker - if enough of us do it this could lead to victory for animals.  In addition to the few minutes you spend doing this you could then encourage your friends to do the same by simply sharing on Facebook and Twitter and so forth.

The Rules

The Animal News will never ask you to donate and will never post links or pictures of graphic or disturbing footage of animal cruelty unless absolutely crucial to the campaign, if this does occur you will always receive a warning of upsetting content.

Your Contribution - The More The Merrier!

As well as asking for your help with appeals you will find the odd news article, photographs, quotes, poems and more.  The Animal News is a work in progress so we'll take this journey together, I would love to hear feedback from you as to what you would like to see on the site and any constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

Thank you for stopping by, remember to bring your friends - the more the merrier!

Helen
