Help Crack down on Wildlife Crime in London

The beautiful tiger cub above would have been around 10 days old when it was killed and stuffed.  Instead of living the life it deserved, the cub's destiny was a mantelpiece in London.

London is an important hub for the illegal wildlife trade, WSPA describes it as being "a shop window on the world of wildlife crime".  When the new London Mayor is elected in a few months time there will much for them to do including policing the wildlife crime that is so rife in the city, this needs to be tackled in order to close down the marketplace for the whole of the UK.

As being put in charge of one of the biggest cities in the world, the future Mayor needs to seriously commit to resourcing London's specialist wildlife police in order to crack down wildlife crime on the streets which leads to saving animals in the wild and putting criminals in jail.

Calling all dog lovers!

What are you doing this weekend?  

I am going to be at Discover Dogs, an event run by The Kennel Club at Earl’s Court in London over the 12^th and 13^th November.  This unique occasion allows visitors to meet and learn more about approximately 200 breeds (including endangered breeds), attend interesting seminars on a range of dog related topics given by well known and well informed speakers; it is also the ideal place to pick up treats for your dogs within the extensive range of trade stands, as well as enter competitions, meet other dog lovers and basically indulge yourself in doggie heaven.

This popular event is expecting over 26,000 visitors and 3,000 dogs over the two days.  Tickets are very reasonably priced and I was lucky to win some!  Discover Dogs is still offering regular chances to win, just check out their Facebook Page.

If you don’t have a dog but are considering the possibility this is the ideal way to come face to face with what the dog world has to offer and find out about the many different breeds, you can also direct any questions you may have to the many breed experts in attendance, this may well help you find out which dog would be most suited to your lifestyle and be the perfect addition to the family.
